Hosea Kutako Internaional Airport
Following a call for proposals for the expansion of Hosea Kutako International Airport by the Namibia Airports Company, the concept sought to address a plethora of issues that had resulted in the airport being exposed to possible closure for failure to adhere to International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)standards. The major objectives revolved around reducing passenger congestion on arrivals and departure, quickest completion of the project itself, high levels of flexibility of use and scalability, integrated operation and maintenance support and functional efficiency.
The concept was created through a collaborative multi-disciplinary effort and advanced aviation simulation software such as CAST Aviation were used to simulate the current airport, and the concept design to verify it indeed meets the highest threshold of standards and performance.
